KURA TEINA KAPA-HAKA
Kura Teina Kapa-Haka was established many years ago, as a stepping stone to prepare our tamariki for Manaaki Whaanau Kapa-Haka. We will always remember our humble beginnings, participating in Hauraki and Nga Manu Ariki competitions. Over time, Primary School Kapa-Haka has developed their own competitions, where we now compete in Regional and if fortunate enough, the National Primary School Competitions.
We also use Kapa-Haka as another forum for learning, where our tamariki are immersed in Te Reo me ona Tikanga, me ngaa Koorero Tuku-Iho oo ngaa Maatua Tuupuna. Our Aakonga begin their Kapa-Haka journey in a three year cycle, beginning in Year 6 and ending in Year 8.
We would like to take this time in acknowledging all of our current and past students, Maatua and Kaiaawhina who continue to work tirelessly in preparing our tamariki for on and off the stage.
